Master Showmanship winners awarded

The 2018 Illinois youth Master Showman has been named at the Illinois State Fairgrounds. Fifty-five 4-H members competed for the title of Illinois Master Showman on Friday. Each contestant exhibited sheep, beef and swine in front of a panel of judges Friday evening.

Rising above the competition was Keaton Stoller of Woodford county who won the swine division and was named the 2018 Master Showman.

Paige VanDyke of Clay county earned second place overall and won the beef division, telling Brownfield, “I’m still in shock.”

She tells Brownfield she would encourage every 4‑H’er to participate in the contest if given the chance, “It’s a great opportunity for you to learn things for your future, what you’d like to do. It helps you get your feet wet in the industry and help learn more.”

Henry County’s Cole Ellerbrock was first in the sheep division and Levi Meurer of Lee County placed third overall.
