5 Places to Travel with Kids Before They Turn 18

You know what they say about parenting...the days are long but the years are short. Well, we experienced just that about seven years ago, when we realized it wouldn't be long until our family of five was scattered. The kids grow up and adult responsibilities start to dictate your kids schedules. College spring breaks don't align with your school-aged kids spring breaks, summers are for working to pay off student loans and expenses. Internships, jobs and girlfriends start taking priority over family time. It's normal and good but before you know it travel with your family just changes. We created a family travel bucket list. We sat down with the kids and created a list of the places we wanted to visit as a family. We got all of the places checked off the list just after my oldest graduated from high school. Maybe you want to create a family travel bucket list too. Or you just want to find somewhere fun to travel with your kids before they turn 18. Either way, I've got some ideas for you.

5 Places to Travel with Kids Before They Turn 18

family vacation

There are tons of great places to travel with kids before they turn 18. Here are a few of the best to consider. Get packing!

The Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is a classic vacation destination. Travelers young and old are sure to marvel at the view from the Canyon's South Rim. In addition, the more adventurous members of your group will be thrilled by the many hiking, biking and backpacking opportunities in the area.

Walt Disney World

Staying at Walt Disney World Resort is typically a bit of an investment. But, your payoff is guaranteed to be an unforgettable family vacation. Every single aspect of Walt Disney parks and resorts are tailored to make sure you and your family have the best time possible.

There's so much to do and see at WDW, you probably need to start planning a second trip, if you want to see it all.

Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone was the first land to be designated as a United States-based national park. It's most famous for its impressive geysers, the most iconic and predictable being Old Faithful. However, there's much more to see in this immense and beautiful park. This includes wildlife such as moose, bear and even bison.

Georgia Aquarium

The Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta is the largest aquarium in the Western Hemisphere. There, your family has the opportunity to get up close and personal with thousands of aquatic species and {even cooler} walk through tunnels below swimming sharks.

On certain days, the aquarium also hosts a Toddler Time event where kids eat a yummy snack and listen to a story that teaches them about aquatic life. They also get the chance to meet an approachable animal face to face.

Boston Children's Museum

The Boston Children's Museum is one of the few major museums that really caters to younger guests. Many of their hands-on exhibits are designed for toddlers and preschoolers, such as the construction zone exhibit that lets them get a feel for using tools.

These are five places to take your kids before they turn 18. They'll be grown before you know it. So, the best time to start enjoying activities like this is NOW! Do you have any places you would add to the list? I'd love to hear them.
