A rollover crash Saturday afternoon on I-43 killed a 19-year-old woman after she lost control, apparently while trying to pass another vehicle, authorities said.

The driver, from the Town of Vernon, died in her vehicle, the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office said in a news release. The crash happened near Moorland Road in New Berlin when she tried to switch lanes and lost control of the car.

No other vehicles were struck. The car rolled over and came to a stop partially in the left lane on the northbound side of the freeway.

The northbound lanes were closed for almost four hours after the accident occurred around 1:22 p.m.

Waukesha County sheriffs are investigating the crash. Initial reports say that speed may have been a factor.
