The owners of Crush Wine Bar in Waukesha plan to open a second location later this year in Muskego.

A second location was always in the plans for owner Judy Rosynek when she opened Crush Wine Bar three years ago in Waukesha.

"I think Judy sees the future better than anyone; visionary is the word I would use," said Paul Kwiecien, Rosynek's business partner. "She had this vision, and I know for a fact she's got a vision of how this second location will look, and the third and the fourth."

Rosynek and Kwiecien said they began looking for a second space almost as soon as they opened in Waukesha.

"Finding a second space took longer than I anticipated," said Rosynek, "finding the right space (that is) — we're particular."

Rosynek says they chose Muskego for their second location because of the development the community has seen in recent years.

"There is a lot going on there," Rosynek said. "It's a fun, vibrant and growing community and we really just fell in love with it."

Kwiecien says another reason the pair chose Muskego was the opportunity to be the first wine bar in the area.

Rosynek and Kwiecien have leased a space at W168 S7392 Parkland Drive in Muskego, and have already began renovations. The location is similar in size to the Waukesha location, and will have a similar brand, with Crush's lime-green logo.

The second location will have some differences from the Waukesha location, like having a larger bar and a small outdoor seating area. The owners also hope to update the buildings curb appeal.

"We're just gonna take the things that we've learned in Waukesha, and apply them to Muskego," Rosynek said. "And we'll learn about that market, and see the requests they have, and we'll adapt."

The owners would also like to expand the liquor menu, which would offer more than just the wine and craft beer served at the Waukesha location.

Rosynek said the community in Muskego has already shown interest, and has been welcoming, but the final opening date has not yet been set.

The crush experience

Crush's owners both say the focus of Crush is to help people experience and learn about wine, and provide them with an atmosphere to do that.

Kwiecien said he wants people to learn about wine through the service they receive at Crush.

"I want people to walk out of here saying 'The person who served me the wine, listened to what I was saying and brought something to me that fits with what I like,' " said Kwiecien.

Rosynek said she wants customers to enjoy the entire experience of being with friends and learning about wine, as well as the environment of Crush.

"I want people to be able to enjoy wine, enjoy the ambiance…to relax." said Rosynek. "They were able to enjoy wine, and enjoy each other, really just have a great experience all around."
