Weekly Wrap-Up

Happy Friday, y’all! I hope you’ve had an amazing week. Did you miss the Weekly Wrap-Up last week? Yeah, I’m sorry about that. We had an unexpected family issue come up. It wasn’t an issue of the fun variety, but we’re doing well now. Thank you to everyone who checked up on us.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks. Megan and I have been finalizing 11thgrade curriculum plans. We’re waiting for one last set to arrive – marine biology from Apologia – and we’ll be set.

I’m really excited about all that Megan will be studying this year (and all that I’ll be learning alongside her). She’s not terribly excited about starting school, but she is interested in the topics she’ll be covering.

I’m also really excited for Josh. He’s going to be working at the church on the production team. It’s such a great opportunity for him because he is interested in working in the audio-visual field in some capacity. This will be a fantastic way for him to gain experience in that area.

Last Saturday, I drove Megan, her cousin, and a friend down to Atlanta for a show at the Fox Theater. They had a blast. I was just happy I didn’t have to sit through it. I was going to, but when we found out that my niece wanted to go, Megan called the theater to see if I could wait in the lobby without a ticket. They said I could, so I gave my niece my ticket.

I could not.

Well, there is a large foyer-type area where I could wait, but there was nowhere to sit and no concessions. So, I walked a couple of blocks to The Varsity, which I’ve known about forever but never eaten at.

I may get kicked out of Georgia for saying this, but I don’t see what all the fuss is about. It wasn’t that great. However, it did have seats, Coke, and air conditioning, so I was grateful to hang out there a couple of hours.

Y’all, I am loving my Litter Robot! I can’t wait to share the full review with you, along with the story of how I came to hear about it, but for now, I’ll just say that the thing I hated most about being the crazy cat lady was scooping litter boxes. I was scooping three boxes every three days. I haven’t scooped cat litter since I got the Litter Robot! I love it!

I know it’s hard to tell in this picture, but Finn is giving the Litter Robot two thumbs up.

Plus, now we’re down to just the one box. All of the cats can use it since it goes through its clean cycle each time it’s used. Life-changing may be overstating just a bit (or maybe not), but it has made my crazy cat lady life so much easier! (And cleaner and better-smelling!)

Now, I’m off to enjoy my weekend and my last week of summer break. I see a little school-planning in my very near future. (I’m kind of excited about it, though.) Have a great weekend, friends!

  1. I can not wait to hear more about the Litter Robot; I have never heard of it until you mentioned it but I want one now and all reviews I have read are good.

  2. I love how you point out you will be learning WITH your daughter! That is the same approach I take on some subjects! This year I am learning French 😉

I’ve been unplugged for a while and missed ‘seeing’ you each week. I thought maybe you were taking last week off when I checked back in (it would seem a lot of people are taking summer weeks off). Sounds like things are going better for you this week, sorry to hear you had a snag.

Enjoy the rest of break! We start our full schedule on the 27th, gotta get through the state fair first though (my two youngests are working there this summer), than a week to breathe before we launch into the school year!!
