The Anderson County Sheriff's Office is involved in the search.

A manhunt is underway near Riley Road in the Easley-Powdersville area of Anderson County.

The search for Daniel Earle Webb, a person wanted by the Buckingham County, Virginia, Sheriff's Office, has drawn U.S. marshals and seven or eight deputies from the Anderson County Sheriff's Office to assist, said Sheriff Chad McBride.

McBride said his department got a call around 4 p.m. to assist.

"We have some K-9s on the ground, and we have some deputies on the perimeter," McBride said. "It's someone the U.S. marshals have been tracking."

The sheriff said he believes the case is related to guns and drugs but he did not know what specific charges might be pending on Webb.

Riley Road is a roughly 4,000 foot long road near Wren High School that dead-ends into State 86.

"They have been at it for a few hours," McBride said. "I guess they got him on the run so they had to create a perimeter."

This is a developing story.
