The Brewers' Mike Moustakas is greeted by Orlando Arcia after hitting a solo home run in the ninth inning.

Mike Moustakas knows his new constituency well.

The recently acquired Brewers third baseman has ingratiated himself quickly to the Brewers fan base, and it's not just because he clubbed his first homer with Milwaukee Sunday in a three-run ninth-inning rally or because he's made two crazy plays at third base.

A routine trip to Target went viral over the weekend when a fan caught a picture of Moustakas signing clothing for a young fan -- and buying a Sharpie at Target to complete the task.

"He had his hat on and a shirt and was really excited to see me," Moustakas told Todd Rosiak Sunday. "It’s really cool. To be here a week and to have him want my autograph is pretty awesome."

Moustakas already scored points with the local fan base Friday when he spoke to reporters wearing a Giannis Antetokounmpo jersey.

On the Journal Sentinel Brewers podcast Monday, Rosiak discussed the outlook of the Brewers keeping Moustakas beyond this season. He has a mutual option on his contract for $15 million in 2019.

While we're here, let's go back to that game-saving play at third base in Los Angeles, the first of two dazzling plays he made in his first week with the team.

And here's the Sunday blast to kick off a three-run rally in the ninth.
