To celebrate its first anniversary Aug.17, Timeless restaurant in Naples is offering $3 off its small pizzas and $5 off large pizzas such as its PB&J, Angry Bee and Classic Pepperoni. Also, the local restaurant has buy-one-get-one-free draft beer and wine and its happy hour menu all night.

On Aug. 20, Timeless will host a beer dinner by partnering with Big Top Brewery, Sarasota's first craft brewery which celebrates the heritage of the town. Chef David Nelson will feature six courses of small gastropub-style plates that will each be paired with a craft beer from Big Top. Nelson and brewery representatives will explain each course and pairing throughout the event. 

The dinner will begin at 6 p.m. and will cost $89 per guest. The menu includes Avocado Wrapped King Crab Merus, Smoked Aged Cheddar & Beer Soup, Wagyu Steak Tartare, Shrimp Sausage “Corn Dog,” Crispy Pork Belly & Grits and S’mores Custard Cake.

Another Broken Egg Cafe in Naples is announcing last call for its Sunsations seasonal selections.

These summer menu items at the breakfast-lunch restaurant include Toasted Coconut Quinoa Power Skillet, Sausage & Fennel Omelette, Pecan Praline & Candied Bacon French Toast, and Brunch Bruschetta served with City Grits.

Fusion dinner 

Lamoraga, 3936 U.S. 41 N., in Naples is offering an all-vegan four-course sit-down dinner in collaboration with aplantbaseddiet.org, a site trying to create more awareness for healthy plant-based eating. A portion of the proceeds from the Aug. 18 event will be donated to this 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  

The menu includes cherry gazpacho topped with tofu snow, Moroccan stew, grilled marinated vegetable skewer, miso baked tofu with a roasted butternut squash and quinoa medley, and half of a wine-poached pear with chocolate and crushed peanuts.

Opera Night dinner

Barbatella's next Opera Night starts at 7 p.m. Aug. 15. Try to book early because the local restaurant’s last Opera Night sold out. Founder Livio Ferrari will sing alongside a special guest while the culinary team provides a four-course menu for $65 per person.
The menu include pancetta-wrapped charred asparagus, trofie pasta tossed with roasted red pepper parsley pesto, stuffed veal saltimbocca with a roasted mushroom farro, and limoncello marscapone affogato dessert.

Jet’s Pizza is celebrating the 40th anniversary since opening its first store in August 1978. To celebrate this milestone and thank loyal customers, Jet’s Pizza will be offering discounted pizzas throughout the month. 

Through Aug. 22, Jet’s signature 8 Corner Pizza, a Detroit-style deep dish, will be $9.99 when ordered online and called in for pickup or delivery with the code JETS40TH at participating locations. Another offer only on Aug. 26 features large, one-topping pizzas for $4.99, the original price on Aug. 26, 1978. This deal is valid with the code 1978 and is limited from noon to 6 p.m. that day for one per order, pick up only, while supplies last.

In 1978, brothers, Eugene and John Jetts opened their first store together in Sterling Heights, Michigan, as Jetts Party Shoppe and Pizzeria. The company has now grown to more than 380 stores in 20 states.

Metro Diner's Fried Chicken & Waffle dish features a Belgian waffle topped with sweet, strawberry butter and half a fried chicken served with the diner’s signature sweet and spicy sauce.

Metro Diner has declared Aug. 8 to be National Fried Chicken & Waffle Day. On that Wednesday, the diner’s Fried Chicken & Waffle dish is just $9.99 instead of its regular $15.99. The Belgian waffle is topped with sweet, strawberry butter and half a fried chicken served with the diner’s signature sweet and spicy sauce.

Already serving more than 250,000 orders of Fried Chicken & Waffle in the first half of this year, Metro Diner is on track for half a million orders by the end of 2018. That amounts to more than 1,200 orders a day.

Pints for Parrots

The Parrot Bar and Grill in Naples is teaming up with the Naples Zoo to host the Pints for Parrots benefit this weekend. The event from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, will feature an auction raffle, a 50/50 raffle, and The Parrot Bar and Grill will donate $1 of every pint of beer sold to The Hyacinth Macaw Project.

With their bright blue feathers and yellow-ringed eyes, the hyacinth macaw is visually stunning but their beauty contributed to a massive illegal pet trade. In the 1980s alone, at least 10,000 birds were taken from the wild for pets. The Hyacinth Macaw Project involves research, management, and conservation of the species.

Wine dinner

Roy’s Restaurant in Bonita Springs is hosting its five-course Duckhorn Vineyards wine dinner at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 21 and 22. The dinner with wine pairings from Duckhorn Vineyards is $89 per guest.

Roy’s chef has created a sophisticated menu with each course paired to highlight the intricacies of each dish and the unique characteristics of each wine. The menu includes Hawaiian Kampachi, Lobster Dim Sum, Kurobuta Pork Kakuni, Shoyu Charred Ribeye and Mille-Feuille, a Napoleon dessert with strawberry three ways and pastry cream.
