The partner of Milwaukee Police Officer Michael Michalski posted a tribute to him late Tuesday, the day before his funeral.

Michael Michalski, a 17-year veteran of the Milwaukee Police Department, was killed in the line of duty on July 25, 2018.

In a Facebook post, Stef Lynne described her grief over the loss of Michalski, who was shot and killed in the line of duty last week.

"I’ve missed you this past week. And I’m missing you now. And I will miss you pretty much every day after that," she wrote. "Everyday since last week, I ask one question: Why? Why? And I know why and i know God’s plan is greater than mine, but it hasn’t made it easier (yet). But it will."

She wrote how she is mad they will not share any more memories and how she is sad for his family, friends and all those who never got to know him.

But then she added that more than anything else, she is happy and blessed.

"Happy that you ingrained in me to slow down and think of family first, happy for all of the great times we were able to have together that I can look back on, and blessed to have had the conversation with you where we witnessed our shared faith in God with one another," she said.
