Giuliani Ramps Up Trump's 'No Collusion' Defense: 'Hacking Is the Crime. The President Didn't Hack'
Rudy Giuliani, Donald Trump’s lawyer, on Monday hit the morning news circuit to discuss Robert Mueller’s ongoing investigation into Russian collusion in the 2016—and significantly moved the goal posts for potential criminal wrongdoing on the part of the president.
Speaking with CNN, Giuliani insisted that collusion is not a crime—and that Donald Trump “didn’t hack,” which Giuliani said is the real crime.

Speaking with Fox News, Giuliani also muddled the Trump team’s defense of the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting, during which members of the Trump team met with Russians offering dirt on Hillary Clinton.
As CNBC’s Christina Wilkie notes, Giuliani did not claim Trump had no knowledge of the meeting, but instead told Fox News Trump did not personally attend the meeting.
