Corn, soybean export inspections up on week

The USDA reports that as of the week ending July 19, 2018, corn export inspections will likely fall short of projections for the 2017/18 marketing year, which runs through the end of August for corn, sorghum, and soybeans. The 2018/19 marketing year for wheat got underway June 1st.

Wheat came out at 397,862 tons, down 73,652 from the week ending July 12th and 106,210 lower than the week ending July 20th, 2017. For the 2018/19 marketing year to date, wheat inspections are 2,620,836 tons, compared to 4,442,330 early in 2017/18.

Corn was reported at 1,313,177 tons, up 52,151 from the previous week and 329,866 higher than this time last year. With less than a quarter left in 2017/18, corn inspections are 49,812,748 tons, compared to 51,830,170 late in 2016/17.

Soybeans were pegged at 722,048 tons, 84,562 above the week before and 80,234 more than a year ago. So far, this marketing year, soybean inspections are 51,702,357 tons, compared to 53,958,140 last year.

Sorghum totaled 12,078 tons, an increase of 11,334 on the week, but a decrease of 94,862 on the year. 2017/18 sorghum inspections are 4,798,198 tons, compared to 5,305,244 in 2016/17.
