Native Americans share culture at intertribal powwow in Moorpark

Native Americans from various tribes gathered at Moorpark College over the weekend for the annual Children of Many Colors Intertribal Powwow.

The event got underway Friday, with more activities Saturday and continuing Sunday. Activities included singing, dancing, an open flute circle, arts, crafts and food booths.

Sunday will include a gourd dance and honors for veterans at 11 a.m., with the powwow from noon to 6 p.m.

Cost is a suggested donation of $2 per vehicle.
