Remote, Part-Time Job Helps Woman Transition to Empty Nest

For many parents, there’s a freedom that comes when the kids grow up, fly the coop, and leave home. An “empty nest” can signal a time of great change as well as newfound freedom. Holly S. was ready for change once she became an “almost empty nester,” and for her, that meant resuming a career that offered work flexibility. Thanks to her new job, Holly has a long list of reasons why working remotely has changed her life for the better. “I don’t have to go out and buy a new work wardrobe since I’m working from home,” she said. “I will save money on gas. I can work from the comfort of home, and I can often schedule my work around my home life with my husband.”
