Sections of the Vermeer manufacturing plant in Pella, Iowa suffered heavy damage from a tornado on Thursday, and seven people were hospitalized with minor injuries.

Vermeer officials said several buildings had structural damage and a waste management facility was a total loss. They said they will rebuild those facilities.

The tornado hit as the company was hosting a 70th anniversary event that brought about 400 dealers and customers to the facility. Officials say all visitors were accounted for.

Vermeer is a leading manufacturer of agricultural haying equipment. The company also produces equipment for construction and other industries.
