Finally, Victoria Health has taken the plunge and released their own brand formulated by ingredient experts Garden of Wisdom to VH’s own specifications – co-founder of VH and pharmacist Shabir Daya is more than competent to order up the best possible skin care recipes. I can never resist the lure of a Hyaluronic acid so that’s what I picked to try while I was ordering some supplements. It’s not difficult to see that it looks a little like The Ordinary and yet there really is nothing ordinary about it.
I’ve used a lot of hyaluronic serums and this one, at a very, very reasonable £9, is a delight. I find that with hyaluronic serums, even though they’re purporting to moisturise, they can actually make your skin feel dry – or at the least, as though you’ve never put anything on your complexion in the first place once the initial slip has died away. This has a good skin feel that’s comfortable and seems perfectly compatible with foundation and moisturiser making it super easy to drop into your routine if you want to up the hydration. It’s a non-animal derived version, too, which is ideal.
At the moment there are 18 products under the GoW for Victoria Health branding – look out for pure squalene oil (also £9), a multipeptide serum (£20) and Lactic Acid (£9) – and a handy, easy to digest user guide from Shabir HERE. For anyone that finds Deciem products confusing (there are so many, so it’s easily done) but wants good quality, individual skin care ingredients, GoW is the answer – at least while it remains a small brand.
