Two television series filmed in New Mexico nominated for Emmys
"Godless" received 13 nominations
New Mexico Film Office director Nick Maniatis announced that two productions filmed in the state, "Godless" and "Waco," received a total of 15 Emmy award nominations for a variety of categories in 2018.
"Godless" received 13 nominations, including New Mexicans Jo Edna Bolden for Location Casting, and Geordie Sheffer, Megan Daum and Carmen Jones for Outstanding Hair Styling for a Limited Series.
The western drama mini-series created by Scott Frank for Netflix.was a seven-episode limited series that began production in Santa Fe, in September 2016, and was released on Netflix globally on Nov. 22, 2017, to positive reviews. It was named one of the year's 10 best by The Washington Post and Vanity Fair.
"Waco" was a miniseries based on the 51-day Waco siege in 1993, between the FBI and the ATF and David Koresh's religious faction, the Branch Davidians, in Waco, Texas. It premiered on Jan. 24, 2018 on Paramount Network. The show consists of six episodes and was created by John Erick Dowdle and Drew Dowdle, who also wrote and executive produced.
