Cowboys DE Randy Gregory reinstated by NFL after year-plus suspension

Randy Gregory is getting a shot at reviving his career with the Dallas Cowboys.

The defensive end was conditionally reinstated by the NFL after missing almost all of the last two seasons while serving multiple suspensions for violating the league's policy on substance abuse.

“I’ve never been more proud of any individual in my life," attorney Daniel Moskowitz told NFL Network after Gregory's reinstatement. "I’m very excited for Randy and his daughter and the rest of the his family."

The NFL said in a statement that Gregory is allowed to join the Cowboys for training camp and other activities. Once "arrangements have been confirmed regarding Gregory's clinical resources in Dallas," he will be cleared to participate in practices and games.

After missing 14 games while banned in 2016, Gregory was suspended for at least a year in January 2017 for recording another positive drug test the previous November.
