Milwaukee police have arrested an Illinois man wanted in a quadruple shooting that left three men dead and a 4-year-old paralyzed.

Sydney T. Mays Jr., 25, of Bloomington and several others were arrested Friday during a drug bust in the 2600 block of North 48th Street, according to Milwaukee and Bloomington police. Mays was arrested on six counts of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated battery.

Mays is the main suspect in a June 18 shooting at an apartment complex in Bloomington. The victims were Corey Jackson and Nathaniel Pena, both 22, and Juan Perez-Macedo, 33. A 4-year-old boy was also shot and paralyzed.

Several Bloomington detectives and staff from the McLean County State's Attorney's Office traveled to Milwaukee on Friday to meet with authorities about the case.

Mays is on probation for a 2016 burglary conviction. That year, he also pleaded guilty and was given court supervision for assault.

The investigation is active, police said. Anyone with additional information regarding Mays or the homicides should contact Detective Tim Power, (309) 434-2579, or Detective Brad Melton, (309) 434-2537.
