Welcome to your Morning Buzz, rounding up news and views regarding the Green Bay Packers from around the web and here at PackersNews.com. Grab a strong cup of coffee and get caught up on everything you need to know about the Packers.

We’ll start with Kendra Meinart’s look at the Packers announcement regarding opening weekend and the celebration planned around Lambeau.

From Kendra:

The Steve Miller Band will play a free concert outside Lambeau Field on Sept. 8, the Saturday night before the Packers take on the Chicago Bears for a “Sunday Night Football” matchup.

Miller, the Milwaukee native inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016, is known for such hits as "Fly Like an Eagle," "Jet Airliner" and "Take the Money and Run." The 74-year-old Miller last played in his hometown in 2017 for the 50th anniversary of Summerfest, but he hasn't performed in Green Bay since a 1992 concert at Brown County Veterans Memorial Arena, where $18.25 got you a ticket.

The concert is part of the Packers' 100 Seasons, a 16-month celebration of the Packers’ history that will be capped by the franchise’s 100th birthday on Aug. 11, 2019.

Celebration Weekend festivities will begin at 4:30 p.m. when the Johnsonville Tailgate Village opens. Music begins at 7:30 p.m. near the Oneida Nation Gate.

Concert goers can park free in the Lambeau Field parking lots. The Lambeau Field Atrium, including the Packers Pro Shop, Lambeau Field stadium tours, Packers Hall of Fame and 1919 Kitchen & Tap, will be open regular hours. The Johnsonville Tailgate Village will stay open until 9 p.m.
