Steven Avery is seen in a Calumet County courtroom during the opening day in his murder trial on Feb. 12, 2007, in Chilton, Wis.

A motion filed by Steven Avery's attorney requests that a Manitowoc County court support the addition of new evidence to the Teresa Halbach murder case, WBAY-TV reported Friday.

Halbach was slain in 2005 and the case was popularized in the 2015 Netflix series, Making a Murderer.

In an affidavit also filed Friday, Avery named two new suspects in the case, WISN-12 reported Saturday.

The evidence is a compact disc that Avery attorney Kathleen Zellner said includes thousands of violent images of torture and mutilation against female subjects, WBAY reported.

"Many of the images bear a striking resemblance to Ms. [Teresa] Halbach and to the nature of the crime committed against her," Zellner wrote in her 41-page supplement.

Zellner reportedly told the court that the evidence was found on a computer in Brendan Dassey's home. She said the computer was mainly used by someone else in the house who could have been listed as a third-party suspect in the case by Avery's defense, WBAY reported.

Dassey,  Avery's nephew, was found guilty of assisting in Halbach's murder.

In his affidavit, Avery said Bobby Dassey, Brendan Dassey's brother, and Avery's sister Barb's third husband, Scott Tadych, were involved in Halbach's death, WISN-12 reported. Neither has been charged with connection to the crime.

The case was sent from U.S. appellate court back to a circuit court for review a little over a month ago. Brendan Dassey's request to have the case heard by the U.S. Supreme Court was denied in June.
