A Georgia peach tweet provoked some Southern-style sass Thursday from the South Carolina Department of Agriculture.

Georgia Grown, a Georgia Department of Agriculture program, insisted on Twitter that although South Carolina harvests more peaches than Georgia, it is still the real peach state.

"@SCDAgriculture says they harvest three times more peaches than GA," the tweet read. "We say ours are 3 X SWEETER."

But South Carolina Agriculture was having none of it.

"Bless your heart, @GeorgiaGrown (peach emoji)," South Carolina Agriculture tweeted.

Many on Twitter were amused by the exchange.

One user offered a helpful translation for anyone not familiar with Southern insults:

Might need some peach juice after this burn:

Another person had South Carolina's back:

Throwing shade, Southern style:

Georgia Grown wasn't backing down that They. Are. The. Peach. State. Y'all:

Regardless of who wins the peach Twitter debate, now we're all craving some peaches.
