On Tuesday Belton-Honea Path's Tyliss Roper committed to play baseball in college.

"I am proud and excited to announce that I will further my baseball and academic career at The Citadel," Roper announced on his Twitter account. "First and foremost I want to thank God and everyone who has helped me get to this point."

Roper, a rising senior, is a 6-foot-1, 183-pound left-handed pitching prospect who can also play in the outfield. This summer his fastball has been recorded in the mid-80's and his changeup in the low-70's.

This season, Roper helped the Bears reach the Class AAAA District IV finals.
