Severe thunderstorm warning, watch in the Upstate Monday

Northeastern Greenville County is under a severe thunderstorm warning Monday until 7:00 p.m., according to the National Weather Service at Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport. 

Much of Upstate South Carolina is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 10 p.m. Monday.

Greenville, Anderson, Pickens and Oconee counties are all included in the watch.

Thousands of residents in Pickens County and some in Greenville and Oconee Counties were still without power midday Monday after severe storms hit the area Sunday afternoon, according to Duke Energy

NWS reported isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms are possible Monday afternoon and evening.

Damaging winds are expected to be the main threat, according to the NWS hazardous weather outlook. Large Hail is also possible.

The outlook predicts dangerous cloud to ground lightning and brief heavy rain is also be expected. 

High temperatures Monday were expected to reach the low- to mid-90s before a drop on Tuesday with temperatures in the low-80s.
