22-year-old New Glarus woman dies in car crash

A 22-year-old New Glarus woman died Sunday in a car crash in the Town of Primrose, according to a news release from the Dane County Sheriff's Office. 

The woman, whose name will be released after the family is notified, was pronounced dead at the scene on Peerless Road, just south of Ridge Drive. Officers responded to the scene around 7:30 a.m. Sunday.

The preliminary investigation revealed the woman, the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, was traveling south on Peerless Road when the vehicle left the east side of the roadway. The vehicle went down an embankment and struck a tree, the release said.
