WISN-TV's Tim Elliott lands in Madison, co-anchoring WMTV-TV's morning newscast

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
Former WISN-TV (Channel 12) reporter and anchor Tim Elliott has gone back home (sort of), to co-anchor a morning newscast on WMTV-TV in Madison. Elliott is from Janesville.

Tim Elliott, who left WISN-TV (Channel 12) as a reporter and news anchor May 31, went home again, landing a job as part of a new morning news team at WMTV-TV in Madison.

WMTV announced Elliott was rejoining the station as co-anchor of the NBC affiliate's weekday morning news show on June 6. On Thursday, the station reported that, starting Monday, Meghan Reistad and Hannah Flood, both Minnesota natives, will join Elliott as co-anchors on the newscast Monday.

In both announcements, WMTV noted that the station's morning newscast was No. 1 in the ratings during Elliott's previous tenure there.

Elliott, a Janesville native, worked at WMTV from 2010 to 2013. He joined WISN in April 2015 as the station's breaking news anchor for its morning newscasts. For much of the second half of 2017, he anchored WISN's weekend morning news.

"When I left NBC15 in 2013, deep down, I always knew I would be back. My connection to the community is just too deep," Elliott said in WMTV's announcement of his return. "I grew up in Janesville. My wife is from the west side of Madison. Most of our family and friends live here. To have an opportunity to come back and be a part of 'The Morning Show' again is something I just couldn't pass up."
