MU chosen for inclusive science grant

The University of Missouri has been chosen for a one-million-dollar grant to expand science education to a wider diversity of students.

MU College of Agriculture Associate Professor, Marcelle Siegel, says the grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute will help build partnerships with community colleges, historically black colleges and Columbia Public Schools.

It’s part of a program with the Association of American Colleges and Universities to include under-represented ethnic minorities, first-generation college students and working adults with families, in science education.
