A Naples man suffered serious injuries Tuesday in an Estero traffic crash, state police say.

Yovenys Cespedes Marti, 45, was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital after the 2:30 p.m. wreck along Corkscrew Road, Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.

Marti was driving his 1999 Volvo east on Corkscrew and west of Whidden Loop when, for an unknown reason, he lost control of his car, troopers reported. The car veered to the right and left the road as Marti tried to correct the Volvo's course.

He then traveled across a southbound lane, leaving the roadway to the left. The car hit a power pole and flipped onto its side, FHP said, before resting on its left side on the left shoulder, facing northwest, police said.
