A huge crowd is expected Wednesday for a job fair the Milwaukee Bucks will hold for their new arena.

The event runs from 1 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the Wisconsin Center convention hall.

The Bucks seek to fill about 400 part time jobs that will pay at least $12.50 an hour. Positions include security, guest services, ticket takers, and retail sales.

About 620 people pre-registered for interviews, and another 600 started to fill out online applications but did not complete them.

Here are some dos and don'ts from Kelly Kauffman, senior vice president for human resources, for those attending the event.

A sidewalk is added between the new arena and the Bucks' new entertainment block.
  • Be prepared. Do some research on the new arena and the kind of job you are seeking.
  • How awesome are you? Be prepared to talk about something you did in the area of customer service "that really blew people away," Kauffman said.
  • Dress nicely for the job you want. "You don't need to have a three piece suit, but we also don't want you to show up in shorts and a t-shirt," she said.
  • "Wisconsin nice" sought. Be friendly, make eye contact, smile and shake hands with the interviewer.
  • Bring a resume or be ready to provide job history information if you haven't applied online.
  • Don't bring family members along to the interview. "We're expecting a large number of people," Kauffman said. "The more that we can focus on the candidate, the better."
