Bicyclist dies after being hit by a vehicle on Golf Road in the Town of Delafield

A bicyclist was killed Thursday evening when he was hit by a vehicle in the Town of Delafield.

The accident occurred about 5 p.m. on Golf Road west of Maple Avenue, according to a news release from the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office.

The bicyclist had been traveling eastbound on Golf Road when he was hit by a vehicle traveling in the same direction, the Sheriff's Office said. The bicyclist, a 57-year-old man from Delafield, was taken to Aurora Summit Hospital in Oconomowoc, where he died from his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, a 71–year-old man from Waukesha, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, the Sheriff's Office said.
