Midwest Dairy introduces ambassador program

Missouri Dairy ambassadors made their debut at the Missouri Dairy Association’s farm tour for June dairy month.

Midwest Dairy has introduced a new dairy ambassador program in Missouri.

Six college students with a dairy or agriculture background have been recruited to serve on this year’s team.

Ashton Attebury, a student at Ozarks Technical Community College in Springfield, just began her term as an Ambassador.

“I just like the thought of going out and spreading the word of dairy,” Attebury said. “Our main goal is building the consumer trust in today’s food system, so just getting to go out and share what I love and inform more people about the dairy industry and agriculture in general is my job.”

Ashton is studying general agriculture and plans to work on her family farm in Conway, Missouri where she currently owns 25 head of dairy cattle.

The mission of the dairy ambassadors is to tell the dairy story to consumers at different events. The ambassadors will be at the Missouri State Fair and other dairy events across the state in the coming year.
