Get ready, Belmont: Rob Gronkowski is coming.

The New England Patriots tight end traveled to New York on Saturday to watch the 150th running of the Belmont Stakes. More specifically, he went to watch the horse named after him.

Gronkowski, the Kentucky-bred 3-year-old named after the Patriots star, qualified for the Kentucky Derby last month but was forced to pull out of the race due to a fever. He did not run in the Preakness Stakes two weeks ago.

“It’ll be a fun event for sure, said Gronkowski, according to the Boston Herald. "It’s something different seeing a horse, knowing it’s named after you, seeing a live race. It’s going to be something special, something unique.”

Despite boasting a 4-1-0 record in six starts, don't expect Gronkowski to be a challenger to spoil Justify's Triple Crown bid. The horse is considered a long shot at 21-1 in Saturday's race.

Gronkowski, the person, joined Phoenix Thoroughbreds, a Dubai-based investment fund, in late April for a stake in the horse's ownership.
