FOND DU LAC - A man who hid a golf-ball size wad of cocaine in his rectum will spend 6½ years in prison.

Isaiah Potts, 28, was sentenced this week by Fond du Lac County Circuit Court Judge Gary Sharpe for possession and delivery of cocaine.

Police arrested Potts on March 6 for two prior cocaine deliveries, and took him into custody, where a strip search at the jail turned up 5.3 grams of crack cocaine, court records state.

The cocaine was packaged in two baggies and hidden in Pott's rectum, said Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney.

"Concealing narcotics in one's rectum is an indicator of sophisticated drug-dealing which requires a serious prison sentence," Toney said.

The defendant previously sold crack cocaine to undercover investigators from the Lake Winnebago Area Metropolitan Drug Unit.

Potts is considered a repeat offender with an extended criminal history, which enhanced his sentence.

Sharpe described Potts' actions as "abominable," — a career path that "ignores the well-being of children, families and the community," Toney said in a press release from the district attorney's office.

Sharpe also ordered Potts serve eight years of extended supervision following his prison sentence.
