Our strategy with Citrix Cloud is fundamentally different from many other clouds. We aren’t looking to lock-in customers. We’re looking to expand their choices. Let’s look at how Citrix helps ensure choice in cloud, infrastructure, and end-user devices.

With almost every Enterprise we are seeing, their Cloud transformation has been Hybrid and Multi-cloud. Security, cost and IT skillset challenges ensure that. The Citrix architecture for powering the Workspace allows you to maintain your options as an organization.

For hosting your Windows and Linux virtualized workloads, we offer deep management all of the top public clouds.  This includes Azure, Google Cloud, AWS and Oracle Cloud.

However, even as everyone embarks on their journeys to the cloud, our data shows the most popular cloud to host your end-user workloads is still the one behind your firewall.  We offer complete management of on-prem Citrix hypervisor, Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV and even VMWare ESX from our Citrix Cloud apps and desktops service. Our resource management capabilities allow you to mix and match all of this from a single management console.

None of our competitors offer a comprehensive, hybrid, multi-cloud architecture. VMware, in particular, has never been able to commit to a hybrid-cloud friendly business model — for obvious reasons. As a result, it doesn’t have a single offering that spans cloud and data center. That are bolting on hybrid capabilities to their legacy software. VMware’s lack of portability means you can’t make a smooth migration to the cloud as you can with Citrix.

Our cloud architecture was built from the ground up with cloud portability in mind.

Hyperconverged Infrastructure is the hottest technology for managing Cloud-style workloads in your datacenter.  This first-of-its-kind program helps partners optimize their HCI solutions to make it easy to deploy and manage hybrid-cloud Citrix Workspace architectures.

Nutanix was the first of these to become available back in January is now used by our mutual customers as their “easy button” to get connected to Citrix Cloud.

With the addition of HPE and Cisco, who are now in-process, the ecosystem now includes all major Hyperconverged vendors.

No matter which HCI solution you choose, we’re making it easy to manage with Citrix.

We have decades of co-innovation with Microsoft. I’d like to highlight three ongoing areas where we’re partnering together to push technology boundaries.

New Windows releases are always a big deal for our customers. To that end, we will be providing Day 1 support for Windows Server 2019 when it ships

We are partnering with Microsoft broadly around RDMI technology.  In that area, our first project is to aggregate RDMI-delivered applications into our Workspace — further ensuring that all of your applications can be instantly accessed via our Workspace.

Citrix SD-WAN is available as an integrated networking virtual appliance on Azure VNETs to provide automated,  secure and high performance app connectivity from enterprise workloads back to the enterprise data center or to branch locations. Citrix and Microsoft have continuously partnered to bring additional value and options to Azure customers through Citrix SD-WAN solutions.

We are looking forward to our next decade of collaboration with Microsoft.

Today, users demand to choose their devices, and this will only become more pronounced as more born-digital people enter the workforce. BYOD also has the potential to save money for IT, but security risk and complexity must be managed.

Let’s look at how Citrix technology is evolving in this area to support these needs.

The concept of Mobile Device Management became critical when IT teams realized how much data was being stored on executives’ iPhones. What could happen when one was lost? Early MDM solutions gave IT teams the confidence that they could secure these devices and keep that data safe. Citrix has long been a leader in this area.

The reality that gradually set in is that this has been a problem for much longer than there have been smart phones.  We generally have far more data at risk, and more of our productivity dependent on, our laptops. In general, management tools for Windows and Mac have not been integrated with each other, much less with the same console as Mobile devices.

It’s not just about a single pane of glass over two solutions: one for desktop and one for mobile. MDM set a new standard for management that was easier and cleaner than traditional desktop management solutions.  MDM-style management for laptops and desktops is what customers are now demanding and what we’re now delivering.

While phones and laptops are incredibly important there is an even bigger challenge looming on the horizon: IoT devices. There will be over 80 billion smart devices on the internet and many of them will be inside the Enterprise. In one of the first examples of the importance of this trend, a few years back a major retailer lost over 100 million customer records in a security breach that started through an internet connected air conditioner. Now, we are seeing a major uptick of non-traditional computing devices attached to our corporate networks. We will need to manage and secure these the same way we do our other, mainstream devices.

There are many advantages of unifying the management of all three types of devices. Ultimately, it comes down to improving life for your users and for IT. You can rollout new devices faster and ensure your users get the best experience. Then, by ensuring that user’s devices automatically stay up-to-date and that your IT policies are enforced, you get the confidence to use the range of devices in new and exciting ways.

Citrix wraps all the capabilities for all of these platforms into a single, easy-to-consume Cloud service. Mobile devices, traditional desktops and now IoT devices, are all managed from a single pane of glass. This single, unified management experience supports the widest array of device classes and we are responding quickly in adding support for new devices into the service.

As we continue to expand our coverage in this area, we’re pleased to announce several additional capabilities for our Endpoint Management service.

First, we have dramatically enhanced and extended our management capabilities for Windows and Mac laptops and desktops with new features.

Next, we’re announcing support for a new range of less traditional devices. The Raspberry Pi-powered Citrix Ready Workspace Hub can now be centrally managed at fleet scale. Next, we have expanded our capability to manage Google’s ChromeOS. This allows customers to accelerate their deployment of Chromebooks and also to look at the emerging class devices leveraging this technology. AppleTV is an example of a very, non-traditional Enterprise device that’s already seeing substantial adoption in the Enterprise in settings such as conference rooms. And, finally, we’re excited to announce support for managing Alexa for Business devices. We think that voice will be a transformative technology in the enterprise. Managing devices like Alexa is another example of how these IoT requirements are evolving quickly.

Secure these consumer-type devices as they enter your Enterprise or risk them becoming your air conditioner.

Citrix ensures that you have choice for the end-user and choice for IT.

Our unique hybrid/multi-cloud architecture ensures IT maintains the flexibility it needs. We ensure you have the ability to choose on-prem or public Cloud deployments.

Our broad ecosystem of Hyperconverged partners ensures you can operate your on-prem applications with cloud-like agility.

And we ensure that you have the choice of the widest range of devices in the industry from which to access your Workspace, helping you improve employee engagement and productivity.
