Tiger Woods struggles down stretch in final round, finishes the Memorial Tournament 9-under

It's Sunday at Jack Nicklaus' the Memorial Tournament in Columbus, Ohio, and Tiger Woods is in contention.

After strong rounds on Friday (5-under) and Saturday (4-under), the 14-time major camp and winner of 79 PGA Tour titles begins the day just five shots behind leader Bryson DeChambeau (14-under) and even briefly held the lead on Saturday.

Due to weather concerns, the Tour decided to move up tee times in an attempt to avoid inclement weather. Tiger tees off at 9:10 a.m. ET alongside Whee Kim and J.B. Holmes.

Hole 18 - Par 4

Tiger's ending on a high note here, crushing another iron off the tee. He finds the green with his second shot, and the birdie putt comes up short. He's forced to tap-in for par once again, a fitting way to end an even-par round of 72, leaving the course at 9-under for the weekend.

Hole 17 - Par 4

Tiger striped a 3-wood down the fairway and found the green with is approach. It looked like he slapped his putt a bit, missing left. He taps in for par. Even thru 17 (9-under for the tournament).

Hole 16 - Par 3

Good, not great here from Tiger, who finds the green about 40 feet from the cup. The first putt misses by about 5 feet, and he lips out with his second. Another awful three putt bogey on a par 3 for Tiger this week. Even thru 16 (9-under for the tournament).

Hole 15 - Par 5

SHEESH! Tiger smoked this drive down the fairway, but follows it with an iron that sailed left into the gallery. His lie wasn't awful and Tiger was able to get his pitch up in the air and safely on the green. He's got a look at birdie, and shouldn't have worse than par. It was either right speed, wrong line or wrong speed, right line as Tiger misses for birdie but cleans up for bogey. 1-under thru 15 (10-under for the tournament).

Hole 14 - Par 4

Tiger paints the fairway with an iron off the tee yet again, but his approach shot was rather conservative given the circumstances. Nothing to see here, two putt par. 1-under thru 14 (10-under for the tournament).

Hole 13 - Par 4

Yikes. Tiger's drive went right - way, way right - and he's forced to hit a provisional in case he's out of bounds. He smoked his second tee shot 300-plus yards down the fairway. His fourth shot after the penalty nestles up right next to the cup. He drops the putt, which drops him a shot after the bogey. 1-under thru 13 (10-under for the tournament).

Hole 12 - Par 3

USEFUL tee shot here from Tiger. He finds the green and runs the ball well within birdie putt range. Missed opportunity here as Tiger's putt never had a chance. If he ever needed a birdie, it was there. 2-under thru 12 (11-under for the tournament).

Hole 11 - Par 5

Tiger goes iron off the tee and finds the fairway here. He lays up with his second shot and sticks a flip wedge within a few feet of the hole and converts a great bounce-back birdie. 2-under thru 11 (11-under for the tournament).

Leaderboard update: Patrick Cantlay leads the field at 17-under par, followed by Bryson DeChambeau at 15-under and Joaquin Niemann and Kyle Stanley at 14-under.

Hole 10 - Par 4

Tiger pulls driver to start the back nine and goes left. Not good. He plays out of a fairway bunker to the fairway, leaving a flip wedge onto the green. Incredible shot: Tiger runs the pitch about 10 feet past the hole and spins it back 15 feet just under the cup. The putt misses, forcing Tiger to tap-in for bogey, his first of the day. 1-under thru 10 (10-under for the tournament).

Hole 9 - Par 4

Another great stinger shot off the tee and peppers the fairway for Tiger. Tiger plays this one smart, finding the green about 20-feet from the hole and avoiding the water surrounding the pin. Brutal. The speed was just about perfect, coming up an inch from dropping. He taps in for par, shooting a 2-under 34 on the front nine (11-under for the tournament).

Hole 8 - Par 3

Tiger's iron off the tee comes up short and gets stuck in the rough in front of the green. Useful chip sets up an up-and-down for another par. 2-under thru 8 (11-under for the tournament).

Hole 7 - Par 5

Tiger's got another chance to reach a par 5 in two shots after his drive finds the fairway down the right side on No. 7. He lands on the green but runs a little long, and for the second hole in a row he'll have a difficult chip out of the rough. It was a tough lie and the shot showed, ending up about 20-feet past the hole. Two putt par once again. 2-under thru 7 (11-under for the tournament).

Hole 6 - Par 4

He's been smoking his 3-wood all day, but decides to pull driver on No. 6. He found the bunker and his second shot is just off the green in the thick rough. His chip runs past the cup and he comes right back with a clutch par put. 2-under thru 6 (11-under for the tournament).

Hole 5 - Par 5

Tiger liked this 3-wood off the tee, and even though it found the first-cut rough, he's got a chance to get there in two. He hits a useful approach here and avoids a tree, leaving about 40-some feet for eagle. He looked at this one from just about every angle but comes up short, leaving a short putt for birdie. 2-under thru 5 (11-under for the tournament).

Leaderboard update: It's crowded at the top as 19-year-old Joaquin Niemann, Bryson DeChambeau, Patrick Cantlay and Kyle Stanley are all tied for first at 14-under par. Justin Rose is in fifth at 12-under while Tom Hoge and Tiger are T6 at 11-under.

Hole 4 - Par 3

Tiger finds the greenside bunker off the tee on No. 4. There's not a lot of green to work with here, but Tiger puts this one within a foot to get up-and-down for par. 1-under thru 4 (10-under for the tournament).

Hole 3 - Par 4

Iron here off the tee from Tiger and he blasted it. He's got a short wedge for the approach and it's a beauty, leaving another look for birdie. The putt had some left-to-right break, just not as much as Tiger thought. Two-putt par. 1-under thru 3 (10-under for the tournament).

Hole 2 - Par 4

Wow. Tiger bombed his 3-wood down the fairway and got a nice little roll. He's in the fairway again, 326-yards off the tee. His approach finds the green but he's got some work to do from there. The birdie putt just misses and he taps-in for par. 1-under thru 2 (10-under for the tournament).

Hole 1 - Par 4

Going for his first win on the PGA Tour since making his most-recent comeback, Tiger begins his Sunday round in his signature red shirt with a beautiful tee shot that finds the fairway. From 155-yards out, Tiger sticks his approach around 12-feet from the cup and has a look at birdie on No. 1. Bang! He drops the putt for birdie. 1-under thru 1 (10-under for the tournament).
