'Roseanne' Consulting Producer Wanda Sykes Won’t Return to Show Following Barr's Racist Rant

The Right Wing

Wanda Sykes, a consulting producer on the “Roseanne” reboot, will not be returning to the show after Roseanne Barr on Tuesday tweeted a racist attack on former Barack Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett.

Sykes made the announcement on Twitter:

Earlier Tuesday, Barr compared Jarrett to a cross between “the Muslim Brotherhood” and “Planet of the Apes.” She told CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski the post was “a joke.”

Barr later apologized to Jarrett and “all Americans” for “making a bad joke about her politics and her looks.” She also swore off Twitter following the incident.
