Belton woman dies after crash in Anderson, coroner says

A Belton woman died Friday after suffering injuries in a crash near the intersection of Gossett Street and Williamston Road in Anderson.

Marian Harper, 64, was driving on Gossett Street and appeared to be attempting to cross over to Williamston Road when she pulled out in front of a Toyota sedan heading  north on Williamston Road, said Anderson County Deputy Coroner Josh Shore.

Harper's car was hit on the driver's side around 8 a.m., and she suffered major injuries, Shore said. Harper was taken to AnMed Health Medical Hospital and died there later Friday morning after suffering major trauma to the chest and abdomen, Shore said.
