Kentucky football player Marcus Walker charged with drug trafficking

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky reserve defensive back Marcus Walker was arrested in Lexington on Thursday and faces multiple drug-related charges.

Kentucky safety Marcus Walker was arrested on May 24 2018.

A Kentucky spokeswoman said the school is aware of the arrest and is currently gathering more information.

According to the Lexington jail website, Walker has been charged with buying or possessing drug paraphernalia, trafficking in marijuana and trafficking in a controlled substance.

The Lexington Herald-Leader, which obtained a copy of Walker's arrest citation, reported that he was arrested on suspicion of trafficking five pounds of marijuana and four grams of cocaine.

A Lake Wales, Fla., native, Walker played in 12 of Kentucky's 13 games as a sophomore last season, mostly on special teams. The reserve safety recorded five tackles in 2017.
