Alliance for Science Global Farmer Leadership training in Illinois

Farmers from 40 countries are in Illinois to learn more about biotechnology and how to communicate what they want and need.

Sarah Evanega directs Cornell University’s Alliance for Science which is teaching the Global Farmer Leadership course at John Deere headquarters in Rock Island, Illinois this week, “We have farmers from the Americas represented such as Argentina. We even have Europeans here who are clamoring for access to biotechnology. You know, many European farmers feel like they’ve really been left behind because of the so-called GMO debate in Europe.” The group has visited a diversified farm and on Friday their round-table discussion will be streamed on Facebook live.
