White House meeting today on RFS and E15

Another White House meeting is planned today on proposed changes to the Renewable Fuels Standard and expanding access to E15 fuel year-round.

The head of Growth Energy says she’s pleased the USDA is taking up President Trump’s call to action and pressing for an immediate E15 fix ahead of the summer driving season.

But, Emily Skor warned that a “flood of illegitimate RFS waivers from the EPA has resulted in demand destruction for U.S. farmers and petroleum giants are now expecting small refinery handouts.”

Skor says regulators should focus on the president’s plan to reallocate lost biofuel gallons that “were siphoned away by EPA waivers.”

Top EPA and USDA officials reportedly will be in the meeting but it’s unclear if Ag Secretary Perdue or EPA Administrator Pruitt will be there.
