Mexican cattle buyers visiting Missouri don’t want to lose NAFTA
A group of Mexican buyers touring cattle operations in Missouri and Illinois this week say they don’t want to lose NAFTA.
On Tuesday, the buyers visited Mead Farms in Barnett, Missouri. Marco Alvarez and Julio Gonzalez, a veterinarian from Guadalajara, said they are very concerned about losing the North American Free Trade Agreement, adding that Mexico and America are friends and they both benefit from the trade deal. They’re concerned that re-negotiations might end up with no NAFTA. When asked if they would still buy cattle and seedstock from the U.S. without NAFTA their answer was a resounding “yes.”
