Twice-baked potato is the new variation of macaroni and cheese that will debut with the new Greenfield restaurant for Grate Modern Mac and Cheese.

All macaroni and cheese, all the time: The Greenfield location of Grate Modern Mac & Cheese opens Thursday in the 84 South development.

The counter-service restaurant at 8871 W. Sura Lane, off W. Layton Ave., is the second location for owner Roaring Fork Restaurant Group, which announced the opening Monday. The first Grate opened last summer in Menomonee Falls.

The mini-chain is adding a new menu item to coincide with the new restaurant, twice-baked-potato mac and cheese. Grate has another dozen variations on the dish, some seasonal, such as roasted tomato and pesto. All the menu items are made with only Wisconsin cheese, butter and milk, the company says.

It also sells some salads and desserts, and has a menu item for children. Prices for entrees range from $6.50 to $9.75.

The new restaurant, at 2,600 square feet, has 70 seats for customers dining in. Grate will take orders online, at gratemac.com.

Greenfield restaurant hours will be 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
