And a bite

The Southwest Florida Event Center has its own foodservice, but if you're looking for a spot to meet friends at beforehand away from the crowd, here are two:

Zorba's Mediterranean:  9106 Bonita Beach Rd SE, Bonita Springs. Opa! is the word for its saganaki, the flaming cheese appetizer that's so popular, and there are Greek specialties from moussaka to grilled octopus. It offers pastas for those with comfort food needs, fishes dishes such as potato-encrusted sea bass and ramps up baklava with a baklava sundae, if you choose — or try its sea salt-and-caramel cheesecake. $8 to $30. Beer and wine only. Reservations at zorbasgrille.com or call 239-992-5005

Saganaki (Melted Kefalograviera Flambé) at Zorba's Mediterranean Grille & Bar. Elysa Delcorto/Staff

Doug's Seafood:  27030 Old 41 Rd, Bonita Springs. For those who want to keep it truly casual, this place seems to know its way around lobster rolls, preferring to call the ones with mayo "lobster crusties." It offers fried seafood baskets, both colors of clam chowder plus lobster bisque and, mmmm, fish tacos. There are kid foods such as hot dogs and griled cheese, salads and side dishes.  $2.95-$22.95. No alcoholic beverages. Dougsseafood.com or 239.319.5702
