USDA says glyphosate used on most Wisconsin soybeans

The USDA’s Agricultural Chemical Use report says herbicides were applied to 96 percent of the Wisconsin soybean acres last year, and the most widely applied was a form of glyphosate.  Fungicides were also applied to 14 percent of those acres.

For nutrient inputs, the report shows farmers applied potash to 80% of planted acres averaging 91 pounds per acre.  Just over half of the state’s soybeans also had nitrogen and phosphate applications.

The USDA says Scouting for weeds was the top pest management practice on soybeans acreage last year in Wisconsin.
