Corteva & Monsanto corn rootworm technology

Corteva Agriscience, the ag division of DowDuPont, and Monsanto say they’ve reached a licensing agreement on insect control technology for corn rootworm in the U.S. and Canada.

The companies say the collaboration enables the development of the next-generation of insect control for above and below ground insect pests.

Corteva will be licensed to stack its insect control traits on two Monsanto traits and the technology will be offered with Enlist herbicide tolerant trait for corn.

Corn rootworm is dubbed the “billion dollar bug” for the damage it causes and the companies say this will give farmers more tools in the fight against it.
