A Perfect Pear Catering has expanded its offerings to include meal preparation serivces.

Krissy Willer and Jim Sheridan, aka the brother-and-sister team who are A Perfect Pear, became business partners in 2008.

Their initial vision to provide for catered events in Brevard and Indian River Counties proved successful, and the duo racked up catering events for Disney Vero Beach, Morgan & Morgan, The Vanilla Ice Project, a Ford Focus commercial, Scripps Network, the HGTV Dream Home and local fundraisers for organizations such as Genesis House and Green Gables.

However, the Perfect Pear still didn’t think life was perfect enough, so they cast about for an additional culinary venture.

“While traveling out of state, we saw how many companies there are that help busy people who are unable or tired of cooking on a daily basis, but also who want to eat a well-balanced meal more often than not,” said Willer.

If others could do it, why shouldn’t A Perfect Pear? And thus was born a meal service with many benefits. With these prepared meals, not only do clients save time because they don’t need to plan shop, prep, cook or clean, but they also save money.

“There is less waisted food, portion control, more variety, it’s good for you, super easy to order, fresh, affordable, convenient and very delicious,” said Willer.

The service delivers your meal right to your door for a $5 delivery fee, but you can also pick up at your convenience.

“All you need to do is heat and eat,” said Willer.

Recent menus have featured mojo pulled pork-stuffed sweet potato served with roasted Brussels sprouts and an Italian Chicken Bake with baked chicken tenderloins dressed with the Pear’s own Italian seasoning and topped with fresh grape tomatoes and basil before being drizzled with a balsamic glaze, vibrant green broccoli and quinoa.

Both of these meals cost $8.50 each for portioned servings and $10.50 for the large meal with double the protein.

By expanding their vision, the Perfect Pear created a service in Brevard County to inspire busy people and seniors to eat healthier during the week without skimping on the flavor, since the meals are home-style. If you have used the Pear’s catering service, you might recognize some selections in a version modified to be ready for the table in just two minutes.

The service works like this:

Customers order their meals anytime Wednesday through Saturday online or direct. They pay online or direct and can pick up their meals or have them delivered to their home. After they have enjoyed their dinner, the container in which they arrived is recyclable, so there is not the plastic waste of takeouts.

Nutritional information is always handy with these dinners, thanks to registered dietician Betsy Markle, who reviews menus to assure the meals are well-balanced. New recipes are added to keep the menu fresh.

“Be good to your body with our meals,” said Willer. “Chow!”
