New Daily Getaways deals have ended for this year, but as a reminder there are some packages still available for purchase. These packages don’t represent obviously outsized value, but with the right redemption in mind they can still make sense. These will be available until May 23rd or when sold out.

Quick Thoughts

Some of these are obviously not very desirable. For example, I wouldn’t bother with the Vegas packages at all since they have untold blackout dates and they don’t look like a good value anyway.

However, it might make sense to pick up Wyndham Points if you’ve got a good redemption in mind. The Manhattan properties regularly cost more than $175 before tax. On a busy night in the city, $175 isn’t bad for an all-in price. During the big eclipse last year, Travis at One Mile at a Time showed how Wyndham points can come in huge, and that sentiment works during high-demand events in general as you’re probably more likely to be able to find a Wyndham property with standard rooms available on points than, say, a Hyatt property. I wouldn’t expect them to run this deal again, but it’s nice to have diversified points when those opportunities present themselves.

I’m not sure about the theme park tickets, but perhaps there is value to be had if you crunch the numbers.

IHG points are routinely available for about the same price by making cash & points reservations and then cancelling. However, some might value the convenience of buying in bulk. A few years back, I helped guide friends who had no points (and no desire to learn more about them) to buy IHG points in the Daily Getaways sale for a bachelorette party in the city, and they saved a hefty amount over paid rates (though with recent devaluations in NYC, it wouldn’t be as much of a deal today). I won’t personally be buying IHG points at these rates, but the fact is that there are scenarios where the points might make sense.

Overall, these are probably a pass for most people, but you might find a diamond in the rough.
