The Galley Restaurant on a clear day in April with a view of Lake Hartwell at Portman Marina. The popular lake restaurant in Western Anderson is at 1629 Marina Road, and open 5-10 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Portman Marina is located at 1629 Marina Drive in Anderson and is the largest inland marina in South Carolina.

The Portman Marina has more than 500 wet and dry docks on property. It has been in operation since 1963 and sits on 44.3 acres, according to the Army Corps of Engineers.

It features two restaurants, The Galley, offering waterfront dining with fresh seafood, steaks and a hearth oven, and Nami, an authentic Japanese restaurant with a full sushi menu.

Portman Marina was the site of the first Bassmaster Classic held in Anderson in 2008.

Portman Marina has been owned by David Freeman since 1984.
