Child’s Play: A review of the indoor-activity center Yu Jump

Michelle Spitzer

Pretty soon the temperatures will climb dreadfully high, the humidity will choke you as soon as you walk out the door and the afternoon thunderstorms will appear like clockwork.

Those are the times parents are desperate for indoor activities to entertain their children and keep everyone sane. Space Coast Parent will be reviewing various options to keep your little ones busy during the summer, on the weekends or whenever you need a fun activity.

The activities: Yu Jump is a large, open area filled with unique activities. There is an area specifically designed for children 55 inches and smaller. The flooring is made up of blue and yellow mats to cushion any falls. There are several inflatable devices perfectly sized for toddlers all bright white with neon colors and lights. There’s a merry-go-round, a large slide and a seesaw, among other attractions. The favorite in the area seemed to be the balloon room. It’s filled with dozens of balloons in constant movement by flowing air.

Crawlers have their own spaces one with cushioned blocks and another with a clear floor that looks like a water fountain is below it. Crawlers and toddlers (and even adults) are fascinated by how this works).

Children of all ages can enjoy the four bounce houses, some with slides, one with an obstacle course and there’s even a dance party bounce house that plays pop music.

There’s an arcade with games like skee-ball, air hockey and traditional video games. Guests can win tickets on certain games and redeem them for prizes.

Yu Jump is for crawlers to children 12 years of age.

Food: A concession stand sells a variety of food including pizza, hot dogs and ice cream. No outside food is allowed.

Birthday Parties: Several party rooms are available. Parties start at $99 plus tax. The entire facility may be rented out for $450 an hour.

Bonus Points: All play structures get sanitized nightly and deep cleaned once a month. Staff is constantly cleaning the facility during down time.
