Sussex Hamilton's Patrick Baldwin Jr. shoots over Oshkosh North's Matt Hickey in a Division 1 state tournament semifinal game on March 16, 2018. Baldwin, a freshman, scored a team-high 22 points on 8-of-17 shooting.

The past few months have been very, very good to Patrick Baldwin Jr.

First, the talented Sussex Hamilton freshman led his team on a remarkable run to the WIAA state basketball semifinals, where the Chargers came within a late three-pointer of defeating eventual Division 1 state champion Oshkosh North.

The scholarship offers have followed in bulk for the 6-foot-8 forward, and the most recent one came from his new backyard.

Baldwin, who moved to the area before the 2017-'18 season when his father, Pat Sr., was named head coach of the UW-Milwaukee men's basketball team, tweeted that he had received a scholarship offer from Marquette University.

It's certainly not the first offer Baldwin has picked up this off-season. Minnesota, USC, DePaul, Kansas State and Arizona State all have put their names in the ring with offers, joining a UNLV program that offered Baldwin in December.

Presumably, he also could play for his father at UWM if he didn't want to play just a few hundred yards north on 4th St. in downtown Milwaukee.

Baldwin averaged 16.0 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game as the Chargers bounced back from a late-season swoon to make their first appearance at the state tournament in 31 years.
