A new battle is brewing for your morning cup of Joe in select markets across the United States. Dunkin’ has opened up a new front in the coffee wars by testing out their new loyalty program in Texas, Orlando, Portland and Scranton.

Dunkin

It may not impact you now but the program is expected to expand across the nation on January 27th. CNBC has a great article on the details of the program.

Members will receive a free medium beverage when they join and will earn five points per dollar. This is significant because Starbuck’s program rewards loyalty on a per transaction. So with Dunkin’, the more you spend, the quicker you can earn a reward.

Will be interesting to see how this situation develops. But one thing is for sure, they are coming for your cups.

  1. How did Scranton make that list? It’s like saying New York City, Boston, Dallas, LA, and Waxahachie.

  2. There seems to be an all out war now, Starbucks, Dunkin and McDonald’s. I still haven’t seen the Dunkin loyalty program in stores in NJ?
